Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Był jedną z najpopularniejszych postaci Wybrzeża Gdańskiego. Przyjechał do Gdańska w 1945 roku, zamieszkał początkowo w Sopocie, pracował w gdyńskich redakcjach gazet i od pierwszych dni tworzył fotograficzną kronikę regionu. Mówiono o nim „latający reporter”. Żadne wydarzenie nie mogło się odbyć bez jego udziału. Dokumentował też życie codzienne, nie rozstając się z aparatem fotograficznym. Choć przez całe życie zawodowe związany był z gdańskim dziennikiem „Głos Wybrzeża”, publikował także w wielu innych wydawnictwach. Fotografia prasowa stała się dla niego nie tylko pracą, ale również hobby wypełniającym całe życie.
Z wielu przyznanych mu nagród i wyróżnień najbardziej cenił sobie tytuł „Gdańszczanina Roku 1972” otrzymany głosami czytelników „Wieczoru Wybrzeża”. Od roku 1997 organizowany jest Pomorski Konkurs Fotografii Prasowej Gdańsk Press Photo jego imienia.
Was one of the most popular figures on the Gdańsk coast (Wybrzeże). He came to Gdańsk in 1945 and from his very first days here he created a photographic chronicle of the region. He was called the “flying reporter”. No event could take place without his participation. He also documented everyday life and he never parted with his camera. Although he was connected during all of his professional career with the Gdańsk daily “Głos Wybrzeża” [“The Voice of the Coast”], he also published his work in many other publications. Press photography was not only his work but also a hobby which filled his entire life. Out of many awards and distinctions presented to him, he most highly valued the title of “Gdańsk Citizen of the Year 1972”, awarded on the strength of votes from readers of “Wieczór Wybrzeża” [“The Coast Evening”]. Since 1997 there has been organised the Pomorze Press Photography Competition Gdańsk Press Photo which bears his name.
